International economic activity is one reason that leads to the overconsumption of natural resources. Because transport is convenient, many countries can transport their things to foreign countries in order to get more and more money and then lots of resources are used, like oil. As the result, resources are decreasing.

  Band 6

Frequent global trade is viewed as one main reason giving rise to the excessive consumption of natural resources. Since territorial barriers have been overcome with the betterment of cross-national transporting system, the export and import activities have become increasingly prosperous. This, consequently, results in more fossil fuels being extracted and consumed during the process of transporting goods by freigt and air cargo.

  Band 7

Although economic globalization has yielded remarkable gains to the prosperity of many developing countries, it cannot obscure the fact that the growing export and import activities are achieved at the price of our living environment where natural resources are finite. Since international exchange requires goods to be transported between the countries of extraction and production to countries of consumption, for example, indonesia exporting palm oil products to the EU annually, growth in trade has significantly increased the exploitation and consumption of energy particularly petroleum. To be simply put, more money earned means less energy left.
